My interview with David Meerman Scott on the power of the World Wide Rave. David's new book, World Wide Rave, picks up where his powerful The New Rules of Marketing and PR leaves off. Citing examples from all walks of life, David shows how the rave evolves and spreads in a truly viral manner.

MUST Listening for those seeking the 'rubber meets road' aspect of Web 2.0 tools.

David is one of my favorite people to interview. His enthusiasm is palpable and his desire to share real.

David Meerman Scott is one of a small group of writers I use a notebook with when I read. I keep a small “Moleskin” (I buy them at Border’s) notebook (about 32 pages, approx 4x6) with his books because when I read each I know I am going to be making notes and adding to my “to do” list. Even on the re-reads, there is always something new. I also use the Post-It version 9the one with mini colored Post-It flags in the handle) of a hi-liter because I will “flag” certain pages and sections of the book. Two other writers I do this with are Robert W (Bob) Bly and Malcolm Gladwell. For most other business authors my Post-It hi-liter and flag supply will suffice. My notes go in the margins in these books.

The New Rules of Marketing and PR really started me on social networking and looking at other Web 2.0 tools as more than oddities. New Rules gave me examples and instructions, was easy and fun to read, and caused me to reach out to David to do my first (of several) interviews with him.

I was lucky enough to be on the short list to get an advance copy of World Wide Rave, which I have read twice. My notebook is nearly filled, primarily with “to-dos”. I predict Rave will be bigger than New Rules, but anyone serious about using Web 2.0 tools fully should have both these books in their library.
